Terms and Conditions

Last updated: October 16, 2026

ugurcoban.com is my personal blog about martech, analytics and AI in marketing. These terms cover the practical points: who runs the site, what the posts are and are not, what you can do with them, how outside links work, the rules for comments, and the limits of my responsibility. There are no accounts, nothing is for sale and nobody needs to sign up. How the site handles personal data is explained separately in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.

Who runs this site

I’m Uğur Çoban, an individual based in Istanbul, Türkiye. I write and run this site myself; there is no company behind it. You can reach me through the contact form at https://ugurcoban.com/contact/.

The posts are general information, not professional advice

The posts share what I have learned working on tracking, analytics, ad platforms and e-commerce. They are general information and opinion. They are not legal, tax, financial or other professional advice for your situation.

Platforms such as GA4, Google Ads, Meta and Shopify change often, so a post can go out of date. I try to keep posts accurate, but I don’t promise that any post is complete, current or right for your setup. Check the details against the official documentation, and test changes before you rely on them, especially on a live site or ad account.

The views here are my own. They do not represent any employer or client I work with or have worked with. Product and company names, such as GA4, Shopify or Meta, belong to their owners. Mentioning them does not mean a partnership or endorsement.

Copyright and how you can use the posts

Unless a post says otherwise, the text, images and graphics on this site are © Uğur Çoban and protected by Turkish copyright law (Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works) and international copyright treaties. Some screenshots and images belong to other companies or people, and they keep their rights.

You may:

  • read the posts and share links to them;
  • print or save a copy for your own personal use;
  • quote short passages, as long as you name me as the author (“Uğur Çoban, ugurcoban.com”) and link to the original post.

You may not:

  • republish whole posts, or large parts of them, on another website, in a newsletter, in a feed or in a course;
  • translate a post and publish the translation;
  • remove the attribution or present my work as your own.

If you want to use more than a short quote, ask me through the contact form.

No ads or sponsored content

The site shows no ads, and it has no affiliate links or sponsored posts.

Links to other websites

Posts link to other websites, such as platform documentation, research papers and tools. I don’t control those sites and I’m not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. A link is a reference, not an endorsement. If you find a broken or harmful link, tell me through the contact form.

Comments

Who can comment

Anyone aged 16 or older can comment under a post. You need to give a name and an email address. Your email address is not published. The Privacy Policy explains what happens to the data you enter.

Comment rules

Keep comments on topic and civil. Do not post:

  • anything unlawful, defamatory, threatening, harassing or hateful;
  • content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark or other rights;
  • spam, or links that are only there to promote something;
  • other people’s personal data, such as their address, phone number or private messages;
  • malicious code or links to malware or phishing pages;
  • your own sensitive personal data, such as health information.

Moderation

Comments may be held for my review before they appear. I may decline, edit or remove a comment that breaks these rules, for example to take out personal data or a spam link, and I may block repeat spammers. Security tools in front of the site can also stop automated spam before it reaches me.

If I removed a comment of yours and you have a question about it, write to me through the contact form.

Your rights in your comment

You keep the copyright in your comment. By posting it, you give me a free, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to publish it with the post, store it and keep it in backups, and to make the small edits described above. You can ask me to remove your comment at any time.

You are responsible for what you post. If your comment breaks the law or someone else’s rights, that responsibility is yours.

Reporting a comment

If you think a comment is unlawful, infringes your rights or contains your personal data, use the contact form. Include a link to the comment and explain the problem, and I will look into it.

Using the site responsibly

Don’t try to break into the site, overload it, get around its security, or copy it with automated tools in a way that slows it down for other readers.

Limits of my liability

The content is free and provided as is. I don’t promise that the site will always be available or free of errors.

To the extent the law that applies to you allows, I am not liable for losses that come from relying on the content, from the site being unavailable, or from websites I link to.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes my liability for harm I cause intentionally or through gross negligence. Under Turkish law, Article 115 of the Turkish Code of Obligations makes any advance exclusion of that liability void. Nothing here limits any other liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you, and nothing here takes away your rights under mandatory consumer protection law in your country.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If you are a consumer, that choice does not take away the protection you have under the mandatory rules of the country where you live.

If a dispute comes up, please contact me first; most problems can be settled by a message. If it cannot be settled, it goes to the courts that have jurisdiction under the applicable law. Where the law allows a choice of court, the courts of Istanbul are the default. Where your local law lets you bring a claim in the courts of the place where you live, you keep that right.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.

If part of these terms is invalid

If a court finds that part of these terms is invalid or unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms are written in English. If a translation is ever published, the English text governs where the two differ.
